Last night I was invited to a screening of "Slasher", a documentary directed by John Landis. Mr. Animal House was there in the flesh and it was an honor to meet him.
Anyway, he shot this whole thing in 6 days with 6 DVX cameras. It was shot in its entirity with available light and it was not scripted. They shot as they went. I asked John what he thought about his experience with the DVX and he said he really enjoyed it. The 35 mm print we saw, according to him was not the best, that they have a better one. Let me tell you, this looked good, really good. The movie was great, but they are not going to release it in theatres here in the US, only in Europe, but the DVD is out. I highly reccomend it. Or if you can't buy it, watch it in IFC (they own it).
That was the highlight of my week (and probably of my entire existence).
