Hey,

There was a posting on craigslist about a internship type job non paying for a website for either editing/videographer... She emailed me saying if i was available in a few days to meet up.

I was wondering, should I treat this like a interview and where like dress clothing? or shold i just wear nice polo and jeans? The site is like a party it up philly life site http://streettalkin.com

Do you know what they wear there? If so, just go with something slightly fancier than what their normal attire is. Don't go way overboard because then you risk... well... looking like you went way overboard.

If you don't know I would go with something that is a business casual. Definitely don't go in looking like a slob, but something like khakis and a nice collared shirt would do.

I would say treat all meetings even if your not sure as an interview, but like Ryan said if you don't know how they as a company dress don't over dress. Just look clean cut, and nice dockers and a polo dont do jeans. Also look into some common interview questions and be prepared to answer them, just google it you will get tons. Look nice be comfortable, and confident and I am sure you will do fine.

Good luck,

I'll go with the others advice. Many years ago someone gave me some advice that makes immensely good sense ... go to an interview dressed clean, neat, and prepared to walk out of the interview and immediately go to work for them. If you're interviewing for a stockbroker position, wear a business suit. If you're interviewing to be a bricklayer, wear a work shirt, jeans, and work shoes. Do not wear jeans to a stockbroker interview or a suit to the bricklayer interview.

Always treat it like an interview and dress up.

Although I had a client once where I dressed up on the first day to meet him at his house and he was in his pajamas. He didn't even interview me and we immediately got started editing. We're still good friends to this day, but I would still recommend dressing up for every first impression.
