Jiuced Link questions about reliability

Hi,

I have had two MKH sennheisers go out on me since using the juiced link preamp. Has anyone had issues with this preamp before? I have never had a mic die on me in 10years, so it seems odd that as soon as I start using the juiced link, two of my mics fail on it.

Thanks.

Which model of JuicedLink?
I'm using an NTG2 along with a small CX211 preamp. Never had any issue. I bet you've checked for Phantom Power is there was that option on the preamp?

I am using the riggy 3. forget the exact model number, will update in a little bit. Yes, there is phantom power. I had the MKH60, but that went out. Then the MKH50. Then I went to the AT4050, but haven't used it as much, but after two mics out, I am avoiding using the Juiced Link riggy now.

Are you sure the mics have actually "died?" That seems really odd that something in the Juiced would damage them. Have you tried them with another device?

I thought the same as well. JuicedLink isn't something cheap in terms of quality, from what I've experienced.
It can't be like you were feeding Phantom Power to a mic that also works with batteries. You should definitively check with another device.

Thanks, I will do some more tests. At this point I am trying to rule out variables and just trying to see if anyone else has had issues with the riggy series. Thanks

...but also, I am thinking about investing more into preamps and such, and I want to know the general reliability of these little things, and if anyone has run into issues.
