jittery footage

Hey. I imported footage from a DVD into FCP via SVHS. A friend of mine shot a 35mm film and needed me to do a 'quick fix' on something and output it on DVD. Thing is, when played out of the timeline it's jittery. Do you think it has something to do with it being 35mm etc...? Thanks.

Yes, please clarify "Jittery". How are the frames lining up? Was the telecine done poorly? What is your timeline set at?

I used a couple of different timeline settings. The 'jittery' looks almost like a 'strobing' effect.
