Jim Jannard's final post and comments on REDuser

The Red motion mount. Didn't you read about it? Red bought the tessive time filter tech and made a mount replacement with the filter built in, you do lose a bit of light sensitivity, but it seems that Red has accepted this as their solution for rolling shutter for the near future.

$4,500 bucks. Ok, if you can afford a Dragon I guess what's another 4,500 bucks but it seems kinda pricey to me.

Okay, wait, hold the phone -- where did Jim say that he was resigning as CEO? All I saw was that he said he wasn't going to be the public face of Red anymore, he was turning those reins over to Jarred. But that doesn't necessarily mean Jim's quitting Red or resigning his position as CEO...

Is there any further clarifying statement from Red about that?

It sounded more to me like he was still the CEO, just not the figure head.

But all anyone has is his last post, which has definitely led to it being reported that he isn't the CEO, or has resigned.

Jim has NOT resigned. HE'S STILL CEO. Jarred Land confirmed it for people getting confused. Don't believe the Internet hype trying to make more traffic to their site.

Art sums it up well but you can't hate anyone for "good" marketing even if it pisses everyone off bewteen here and the sun.

The images are great from RED and their color science, that's all that should matter.

I would say art adams forgot that producers live by buzz words, and speaking in technical terms is jibberish to them. I believe producers to be intelligent, but if they are only going to run with what makes money... especially if good enough makes more than excellent.

But he is still right.

One thing where Art is wrong: He said that the producers didn't hire him because he explained to them that it would be better to shoot 60fps and twixtor it in post than 120fps. I would've hired a different person too as a producer if someone told me that. It really sounds like "ok, you don't know what you are talking about, we'll hire someone else".

I believe he made the statement because the Twixtor work would've been done from a green screen source. In that case, yes, he is right.
