When U watch the movie and at the same time check this site out

there seems to be "some" errors in the film.

So should be intresting to know what you american thinks of the film?

It seems for every big murder there always gonna be a bunch of conspiracytheorists that cant handle that it could be a single killer.

JFK is not a documentary. I love the way the Stone puts it. He calls the movie, "An alternative myth, to the Warren Report".

I like JFK, it is a good yarn and is beautiful to watch. That does not mean that I think that every statement is true, and anyone who does is crazy.

Indeed - JFK is an exceptionally interesting "take" on events that may have happened - on things that may have been said. Oliver Stone isn't pretending that this film documents a verbatim account of the assasination. But it is good political drama with loads of subtext that at the very least makes you think. Something sadly laking in alot of films.

I get the feeling that Stone got well into the film before he realised that all the theories being presented were completely untrue - but he was already committed to his script.

The 3 sniper theory is not supported by any evidence at all, whereas a single sniper in the book store window is as good as fact. It is also very likely that is was Oswell holding the rifle. Whether other people were involved is a grey area, but I feel it was unlikely.

However, I think it is an excellently made film and proves Stone's mastery of filmaking. It is sadly only untrue propoganda.

While JFK was a great film, to me it came across almost like a SciFi Alternate Universe story. I didn't enjoy it any less, but it does kinda bother me that someone may take it as "truth".

OK interesting to hear your opinions. over here we didnt have the same insight in the murder, so the the problem I have with the film is that people here take it for the truth or a mayor part as the truth.

But you guys seems to have a more mature view of the film.

But how does the general public view the murder?

Now that is a hard question to answer. Just as there are still people that think the moon landing never happened, you have people with all sorts of conspiracy theories over JFK ... Lyndon Johnson planned it, Castro planned it, the Mob planned it, the USSR planned it, and the alien survivors from Rosewell planned it. Personally, I do wonder about "the grassy knoll", but I have resigned myself to the fact that we will probably never know the real truth.

I am actually not American, but British.

The Grassy knoll and similar theories have more holes than a fishing net.

Firstly, remember, an eyewitness account is about as accurate as a long range weather forecast. The power of suggestion will change a witnesses memory very easily.

Also consider facts such as echo, bullet trajectory and over every thing else, the Zapruder footage. Despite what is shown in JFK, this proves the shots come from BEHIND. I have a high resolution scan of the original negative, and you can see JFK's head bob forward from the fatal shot, before being forced back by the explosive pressure of matter leaving the exit wound at the front of his head.

You can also see JFK and Connally are stuck by ONE bullet simultaneously at frame 224. The second shot fired (after this one, but before the fatal head shot) missed the car all together, probably deflected by a tree brach through which Oswald (probably) was shooting.

There may have been another gunman, but if he did fire, me completely missed.

JFK cleverly intercuts real footage, such as the Zapruder, with Stone's own reconstructions, making it very deceptive.

Guys--discussion of JFK--the film is fine, but this is *not* the place to discuss JFK conspiracy theories. I think there are some interesting film-related issues here, but let's not get into a huge discussion of the assasination. Thanks.

Yes and im very impressed by the fact that he only shot with one shoot. (smoking man)

But the most funny thing i JFK (the movie) must be when they time the riflereloading. If that isnt a movie mistake i dont know what is ;)

If anyone has it on DVD it could be nice if you could verify. I dont think the 23.97 conversion would impact?

JFK is a great conspiracy theory film. Very entertaining, very thought provoking, very well shot. I'm waiting on the film that will explore the Oklahoma City bombing conspiracy.

Come on. It was a total conspiracy. Where's there's smoke, there's fire.

I would bet my house that JFK was only shot by one sniper. There may be conspiracies behind that ONE sniper, but look deeper into Lee Harvey Oswald's history and it becomes VERY unlikely. As Barry asked to not discuss the comspiracy here, I'll PM you about it if you want.

Sorry Barry... I took the bait!
