Jerky Playback with H.264 Files in Quicktime ONLY

I'm using Adobe Premiere CS3 to export to H.264 (M4V extension, AAC audio, typical preset settings at 720 29.97fps) that plays just fine under Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, and VideoLAN (for the first two, I'm using FFDSHOW to handle the decoding), but when I play it under Quicktime player, the video is jerky. This also happens if I give the file to someone who is using a Mac.

Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to make H.264 files that play just fine on either a PC or a Mac?

What are the specs of both computers? At home this is not an issue for me, though at work I use a much slower computer, and ffdshow is capable of decoding at full speed, while Quicktime is not. I suspect it's simply inferior decoding on Quicktime's part (ffdshow being one of the fastest software solutions outside of CoreAVC, and possibly Divx 7).

As long as the video actually *plays*, even if it's slow, it's technically fine for Quicktime platforms.

The MacBook was a last generation MacBook, probably about 2GHz with 2 gigs of RAM. The PC has a 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo with 3 gigs of RAM and a GeForce 285. It just plays fine under VideoLAN or MPC and then jerky in QuickTime.
