Get something "previously enjoyed" for around 3K. Take the 20K left over, get your ass over here and bankroll a project for me. ;D

If you were single, then maybe the Wrangler. if you were married without child, possibly the Wrangler. But no Wrangler for you. How about a Mini...Mini...Mini-van!

About 3 years ago, I gave up my Cherokee.

We got her (The so called familia car) a Nissan XTerra so her and my son could cruise in style.

I inherited her 12 year old Honda Civic.

ok, as long as its not the family car then i picked the jeep. the new extended bed of the jeep will let you fit more gear. and jeeps are way fun to drive. summer time is killer with the jeep and....if you have if for long enough, the kid can grow up and inherite the jeep when hes old enough to drive...and it could still be pretty damn sweeet.

btw, just a recommendation, try and get 15" rims, they will try and stick you with 16"s, but tires for 16's are more expensive then 15's, especialy if you want to get some that are a little beefier...and want to go off roading...or, get some cheesy/cheap stock rims and tires from the dealer and get some cool after market rims/tires.

anyway, just an idea, take whatever you want. nothing wrong with 16's.

what color anyway?

Land Rover Discovery. For those production shoots that are off the beaten path. Plenty of room for gear, plus crew sleeping quarters with rooftop tent.

I second the LAND ROVER suggestion. Mine took me, my DVX and a crew of three clear down to Belize from North Carolina for my last documentary.

It's not a Jeep thing - it's the real thing. Really though, get the Land Rover.

my jeep wrangler will take a land rover anyday. i have proven it...a friend of mine and i have also proven that a jeep wrangler will take a military humvee. the land rover has way more creature comforts though...nicer ride on freeways...much more luxory, the wife will like riding in a LR more.

im not bashing land rover...they are killer vehicles.

anyway, i dont think the land rovers fit in a 23k budget, maybe used.

overlandfilms, what do you think of the new land rover LR3?
