Hey Everybody.

My GF, the beagle, the two cats, my DVX and I (what I evacuated with basically) are heading back to New Orleans to stay in about a half hour.

We somehow have a bunch more crap, but best of all I got this grip truck (you say cargo van I say grip truck) for $1000 (less than renting a car to go back) at a University of North Texas auction. Back in New Orleans our only car was a scooter and now I have a grip truck (grip truck = cargo van with utility shelves screwed into the wall).

We have a good mechanic here that tuned us up and gave us a surprsisingly good bill of health, but its an 87 dodge ram van, LOL and anything could happen - so wish us luck!

I just wanted to thank all my homies and DVXuser and Jarred and Barry S for putting on the Zombie fest.

My whole life changed in a day at the end of August, but this site and you crazy fockers was a constant, a good escape and finishing my film was something to focus on rather than whether we had a house to comeback to or not.

So anyway thanks -- talk to you in New Orleans and I'll try to shoot / post some return footage. (our places is supposedly comepletly untouched BTW).

So anyway -- thanks again.

Jack :)

Jack--Cool, glad to hear you're heading back home and your place is untouched--except of course for the squatters, an extended family of Turkish midget acrobats. I have no doubt they'll adjust nicely to living in the "grip truck" upon your return. You may want to look into fireproofing the headliner.

thats awesome youre going back home man!

and you have a grip truck! a friggin GRIP TRUCK! ha!

dood, first you get the silver at the zombifest, now this. i predict when you get home buckets of money will fall from the sky!

and here's cheesy -> :cheesy:

Good luck yo. good news on the safe and soundness of your house. Good thing you're not just going back to a "Shed". Gosh I'm clever.

Jack - Great news!!! (Love the "grip truck"! I remember when I was much younger we had one just like it for our band, carrying all the instruments ... <sigh>, memories!) PM me when you get back, OK? The hubby and I are hoping to go to NO the first or second weekend in November to see an old friend of mine when she gets back from Arkansas where she evacuated. We'd love to touch base with you and your GF if you would be interested!

Best of everything when you get back ... just prepare yourself for the SMELL!

Well the 87 dodge ram made it to Shreveport!

The thing handles like a boat, though ... I'm not talking just about size, but the steering wheel is really loose and it leans so much and bounces from side to side -- really scary on the big loopy turn pikes.

6 or 7 hours to go tomorrow!

hmmm the smell - we supposedly had no water damage but I guess its going to be musty having been baking and closed up this whole time.

The only member of our family that didn't make it out was or Beta fish. I'm hoping that he is completely dried out and not very stinky by now but who knows.

Barry that'd be so sweet if there were Turkish midget acrobats in my apartment ... some glo in the dark makeup and I'd be set for a killer sci fi entry, lol

Oh and Slimothy -- that shed in "Shed" is soooo gone!

thanks all, next post from the Big Easy!

Jack
