Jay Rose Audio books question

Good day all,

I'm thinking of buying Jay Rose' books "Audio Post Production for Digital Video" and "Producing Great Sound for Digital"

Amazon's got a combo deal on the two together.

I have to questions to those you has had been fortunate enough to have read these books.

1. Is it worth buying both, or one or the other. The books seem to overlap slightly, and have good different content. Am I correct in this statement ?

and then

2. Is there somewhere or some link I should buy them from so that someone gets a few bucks commision from amazon ?

Thanks,
Derrick

Derrick,

I highly recommend both books! The writing is clear and concise, they both deliver tons of amazing information. I ordered mine from Amazon too, and they got here really quickly.

HTH,

Both books, definitely--both! I'm blown away by the quality and readabilty of Jay's books. They should both be required reading for every filmmaker.

I've read both books and would recommend both. They do overlap a little in the post-production area, but the post book goes into a lot more details. Bought mine directly from Amazon.

Thanks for the reply,

I have spoken to Mr. Jay Rose since my post, and he recommends to start of with the "Producing Great Sound" to make sure you get the best possible sound while making your movie as we all know is very important. The whole garbage in garbage out thing.

And then to move over to "Audio Post Production" for learning to sweeten the audio better.

He also said that "Producing great sound" talks a bit about Post, but he could only fit in so little of it in this book. Hence the two different titles I guess.

What a nice person though, more that willing to take time read my email and answer my questions in a very detailed manner.

Thanks Mr. Rose I can understand why you are at the level of success you are at!!!

I am going over to amazon to order both books right away!

if you guys go to www.dplay.com, you can purchase the books off his site with 34% discount, or there is a link to amazon to buy the books that give Mr. Rose a little bit more commission.

Thanks,
Derrick
