I'm seriously one of the biggest fans of the first three and I was not disappointed with this one either! It was everything I wanted as a fan. More backstory, action, and an interesting plot. My only gripe was that I saw it in Dolby and didn't feel the experience was worth the extra money. There were plenty of times that Dolby could of taken advantage of the action and it didn't.

Agreed. Forgettable and by the numbers, though entertaining in spots. The original 3 were a great trilogy. Also felt like the shakycam was much worse this time. Ultimatum found the right balance but this one it was just mushy ... couldn't see what was going on as well.

I have to disagree. I felt that the story in this one was easier to follow on a first viewing, and I actually thought the shaky cam was toned down from the originals. I didn't see it as a rehash at all, rather exploring more into the character's past. If anything, Ultimatum felt more of a rehash of Supremacy. Intro, quick fight, exposition, bad stuff happens, big fight, more stuff, car chase, amazing conclusion. This one I felt broke from the mold a little bit. It felt fresh.

It was OK. Just.

Action sequences were over-cut and it lacked the faux realism of earlier films. Felt like a remake.

2.6/5 for me.

An ok film except for the female lead who's always got this cold, I-am-a-badass face. She reminds me of that female robot in Terminator 3. I like Nicky much more because she gives off this feeling of her being vulnerable in some places and this makes us emphathetic towards her. This lady? At one point I thought they would have her kick Jason's ass or something haha.
And Mr. Jones's villain in this movie was so weak that I was secretly hoping that the wooden-faced lady would turn out to be the main villain, but I don't think that will happen even with that twist at the end.

Just caught up to this last night.

The more I think about it, the worse it scores in my mind.

The shaky cam was awful, not in the action scenes but when information is being delivered by text in a movie, it would be nice to be able to read it.

Also, everything was laborious, the villain, the tortured "hero", the asset, the only person moving quickly was Alica Vikander and I don't mean physically, I mean as a pressence in the movie.

Definite rehash that wasn't compelling and the big tech twist wasn't inspired either.

It was a good cast...just a boring movie.

Oh, and don't get me started on the Vegas Strip Car Chase...if you have been to Vegas (not just watched it in movies) you'll laugh hysterically at that 30 minute car chase that travels 1 block until the very end of it where vehicles teleport a mile and a half in an instant to crash an iconic casino that has since been imploded.
