Ok.. not my monkey but many of you remember that I went to Sierra Leonne last year to shoot the mercenary thing.. we stopped by a Chimp reserve over there outside freetown and I got my photo taken with a little friend..

anyhow this same chimp organized 30 of his friends and broke out of the camp.. killing people along the way. Read about it here:

"That chimps can be homicidal should not be surprising. Biologically, they are the closest animals to humans, sharing more than 98 percent of the same DNA with our far more deadly species."

the writing is on the wall...

I agree with Terry, he looks like a homocidal maniac stewing in his cell.

holy crap
... mutitlated gentitals ...
my god the horror of one of those little energizer bunnies ruthlessly going to town on you with five times human styrength, not to mention dexterity and speed! Yikes!

It does sound like a a combination of abused animals (just like vicuos dogs) and of course they can be crazy just like people.

Their was a St. Bernard that had to be put down in my hometown when I was growing up. He seemed OK withe people I think, but he would attack and kill small dogs.

The vet's take on it was that the dog was just bug nuts and couldn't tell the difference between small dogs and rabbits and stuff so the dog had to take a needle nap.

Very disturbing, but makes sense due to law of averages (they were talking about very few incidents) so it makes sense you'd get a nut job chip every now and then, the encroachment of civilization on their natural habitats, and the fact that some assholes try to make them wear clothes.

Also, with an animal that smart - one that can figure out when you are screwing it - I guess it does make sense - I mean what would we do in simmilar situations.

still very chilling .... yikes.

Of course, at 12 feet tall, Jarred was safe all along (as the missing link i.e., Sascrotch), they hold him in a special reverence.

WOW!!!!!!!

St. James Davis lost all the fingers from both hands, an eye and parts of his nose, cheeks, lips and buttocks. His genitals also were mutilated, according to news reports. A relative of the sanctuary owners shot the animals to death before they could kill Davis.

"I had no idea a chimpanzee was capable of doing that to a human," Kern County Fire Capt. Curt Merrell said at the time.

They certainly have the strength. An adult male chimpanzee may be only 4 feet tall and weigh 110 pounds, but he is at least five times as strong as a man.

It's possible, chimp expert Anne Pusey said in a recent interview, that Bruno and his mates were displaying territorial aggression. Male chimps patrol their territory in bands and will sometimes kill males from neighboring groups. Typically, a few animals will hold a lone victim down while the others beat and tear at it.
We take them out of the wild and try to turn them into humans. It would appear that we are simply getting back what we have given.

I don't mean that to sound morbid or unsympathetic, but think about it. We show them how to watch TV, they show us what it means to trespass.

Wow...give it up for all the do gooder tree hugging bunny lovers out there.. in my town, some well meaning people have put up what is known as "Chimp Haven" Just recently, We had the chance to go to a fund raiser for said Monkey Heaven, and purchase the art that the resident chimps. Hmmm. So much for providing a natural habitat for chimps that were raised as lab animals.

... and they know Karate.

what a good visual metaphor for what TC is talking about

and you know that chimp is sending letters back to africa

"it's called a ROUND HOUSE KICK, it's more powerful than a punch since legs are stronger and due to the momentum ... can you believe the humans are actually teaching me this stuff! For FREE! AND giving me food to learn it? So keep passing on these fighting techniques to our fighting squad. Once I am a full black belt I will kill the human and return home to asses your progress and fine tune your combat abilities. Soon ... soon we will reclaim what the frogskinned apes have taken from us ...
muaha ... muahaha ....
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

word!

The only thing we have going for us is that we could use tools to fight against the chimps. Humans are very weak compaired to a lot of predators out there in the world.

we only have ourselves to blame
we teach the monkeys to wear clothes
watch TV
learn Karate
programs software
write excellent manuals for the DVX and HVX
produce emmy award winning television
support independent filmmakers
and it can only lead to this
