well, after 8 months and 4000 hours, my projector bulb just blew and, since i dumped my old tv, i now am resorted to watching my shiznit on the good old 13" Toshiba editing monitor. So from 100" to just over 10" i go.. at least the last movie on it was Kung Fu Hustle and it was worth the short circuit.

I guess i cant complain, because the bulb was only rated for 2000 hours. Sucks though that the bulbs are 500 bucks. I wonder how long i can last before i break down and click the buy button.

That averages out to be 16 hours a day. How much TV do you watch Jarred!?

that thing is always going .. pretty retarded, because I only watch it maybe 4 or so hours a day when i watch movies, its just on as background.

I think that calculation is wrong though, because I have been away from home for at least 3 months in the last 8 months.

wow.. its pretty bad when they start counterfeiting already crappy name brands.
 
Man, been there. I just NOW got my DLP back from circuit city for repairs (it's been over a MONTH AND A HALF!!!!). They kept saying it was the bulb so they sent me THREE bulbs... (which will be on eBay shortly if anyone's interested!) ;)

In the meantime, I just went and picked up a 50" Sony grand wega LCD, which is now going back... the picture wasn't good at all.
 
Sorry to hear about your TV Jarred, I'm with you though, I leave mine on just for background...I barely ever "watch" it...

yeah.. i made it through the night so i feel pretty good. It is alot colder in here though, I had no idea how much heat that little baby gave me.
 
ha, I woke up today and felt cold too...I checked the thermostat...it was on 70!!!

It's freezing in here... :)
 
..thats harsh. 100 to 10 " .. i dont know what id do.. id probably go all minimalistic and not watch TV for a year.

you could always take a screwdriver with you to best buy.. lol
ill give you 1 month to buy the new bulb..or a magnifying glass for your other set.
 
i now how you feel. the headlight bulb went out on my truck, so i said screw it and bought a new truck.
