Jagged Lines in Vegas 5

Hi everyone,
While reviewing my footage in Vegas 5 I am noticing that overhead powerlines and letters are appearing quite jagged. I shot this footage in 24p and I am viewing on a 29.97 timeline and 24p timeline alternatively. There doesn't seem to be much difference and the letters seem to float off the screen. Is there anything I can do about this?
Regards,
earon

Hey, you guys are the cavalry comin over the hill
I'm not sure about the thin or thick detail cause I had just gotten the camera - Feb 2005. Preview was set to "best". But I may have just solved the problem. I rendered with 24p and used 2-3 pulldown and it looks amazingly better (except for the slightly jagged pans). I'm uploading a 1 minute clip at the moment. I'll post the URL for the clip shortly. Please give me some feedback on the clip when you see it.

I'm just getting started with Vegas and boy is it ever a steep learning curve for a newbie. This is the first time I have rendered and the first time I have uploaded a clip. It's gonna take an hour on ADSL for a 1 minute clip upload. Is that normal?
Cheers,
Earon

Hi earon. It does take forever to upload a fully uncompressed avi file that you rendered out. Try rendering out a windows media video file from the vegas timeline. This will result in a much smaller file size and faster upload/download times.

TJIsACooLGuy,
The event was on the timeline. I went under "file" and clicked on "Render As". It was all fairly automated. The file IS definitely uncompressed. Is that what you had in mind above?

No it is not what I had in mind. You were asking about the amount of time that it takes to upload video so that we can see it, and I was saying that it does indeed take a long time to upload uncompressed video. I was suggesting that you compress it, try wmv9 for example.
