Jagged Edge after burning DVD

Hi People,

I have a edited my original footage, which was shot on DVX100AE, PAL camera, at 25P. I edited it with Adobe Premiere 6 and have created an AVI file after editing.

Now every time I create a DVD using Cyberlink Solutions Power Producer 2 Gold, it gives a weird "JAGGED EDGES" on images in the video that are moving. "STILL" IMAGES/video is fine (without any jagged edges) but as soon as there is a movement in the video eg. somebody walking, there is terrible jagged edges all around the person.

I do not know what I am doing wrong. Kindly help!!

Thank you people and good luck with all your gigs!!

Should I deinterlace

Should I deinterlace

I think Iam having the same problem and Iam looking for a solution. I edited in FCP4, converted to Mpeg2 in Compressor using encode 60 min. fast encode, for a 30 min. video and then built and formatted in DVD Pro 1.5. When the formatted video is viewed on a computer there are jagged edges on moving objects and on objects in slow pans. Very white objects also have the problem. The video looked good when viewed in FCP. Iam wondering if 29.97 interlaced video should be deinterlaced when made into a DVD.

Thanks
Pash

twocik23 I rendered and had a blue line over the sequence in FCP before exporting to Compressor.

Sharp-Shooter Iam sorry about jumping in with my problem but I thought we may be looking for the same solution.

Not certain that version 6 of Premiere handles progressive footage properly, you should look into an upgrade to Premiere Pro 1.5.1 (current) then use the built in Adobe Media Encoder to create a progressive a set of .m2v and .wav files for use with your authoring program.

Hmm!!
Looks like will have to upgrade. But right now am saving as much as I can to buy a Mac G5 and move to FCP and then start all over again learning editing on FCP, but from what I gather, its the industry standard...so.....thank you guys for all your notes and info.
Good luck.

Avid seems to own most of the shares of the market as far as editing. There can handle multible formats into one timeless that FCP seems to choke on.
