The big question is...wy didn't he take EVERYthing? :)

He didint havea truck.... it was alll he could carry.

its mostly stage lighting, and spot lights, but who cares they are free and are really bright.

Well the funny thing is they are kind of unnamed, "Made in Taiwan" brand. He didnt pick up stands or cables. With bulbs though.

they have short three prong plugs attache for extension cords.

Not the best quaity, but they work, and are free. and theres lots of them.

i dont know what that means. They look like giant silver spotlights, wit ha Gel holder in thefront. some of them have the glass frasnl looking insert infront ofthe bulb. Various sizes.

Me wants it, my prrreeeecccciiiiooouuuusss..!

Sweet deal, times like those make me wish your uncle had a truck.

It sounds like they are ellipsoid spotlights.

If so, they can definitely come in handy for some locations. However, they're not good as a general purpose video light as they are so 'spotty' they wreak havoc with your contrast levels.

Maybe you could try bouncing one off of a piece of foamcore or a reflector to give a softer, diffused look.

they seem like htey would be useable for bouncng off arelector or wall. not so hot for direct lighting.

also cool for throwing light long distances in outdoor night scenes.

Maybe just PAR cans? (Even if so, nothing wrong with that.)

As far as Lekos and all the other fun "theater" lighting equipment goes...break my heart, make me use them. Until relatively recently, that's all there was. Somehow, people managed. :)
