I've been published in the NY Times!

Weelll, it is only a letter to the editor, but my life accomplishments aren't exactly stacking up lately, so I'll take these trivial "accomplishments" over nothing at all.

According to their website, they get apprx. 1000 letters a day from every part of the world. I've written numerous letters to no avail, and, for whatever reason, getting one published was on that list of things I wanted to do before I died. (I'm a dork, I know.) Maybe this means directing a documentary that gets a nationwide distribution deal will be crossed off the list as well! Or an intimate evening with Salma Hayek!

Nevertheless, the circulation of the NY Times is over a million readers and it's cool to think that a large portion of those people will read my thoughts - including some of the world's most powerful people.

I won't provide a link to the letter or even discuss the contents because the letter was regarding national politics. Anyway, it's the little things in life that make it worth living.:)

Nice

Why you gotta bust my bubble, Hudson? :furious3:

Does the San Diego Tribune's sports page get 1000 letters a day? Is it considered one of the most prestigious newspapers in the world? (look man, my ego really needs this boost - could you cut me a little slack here? You're John Hudson - a dvxuser legend! I'm just some schmuck with 300 posts)

Ha! That's funny.™ :cheesy:

Congrats, Dustino!

Your name in print! That's the kind of spontaneous publicity that makes people! Things are gonna start happening to you... now! :)

hey, i did an 30 min interview for time magazine ... and they didn't use ANY of it. I was pissed ... my .02, never to be read. Congrats on the publish.

Yes good job. And great comeback. Wether or not it was meant to be funny it almost split me in half laughing because after I read Johns reply I was thinking "Wow who pooped in his cornflakes and made him go off like that" and there you were with the bubble bustin bit....Too funny

Yeah, I'm not really into being a famous filmmaker, either. That's vanity poo poo. Real artists live in the midwest and make no-budget shorts with non-professionals.:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Hey, they don't say "All the news that's fit to print" for nothing. That's truly quite an accomplishment. Many congrats!
