iTunes Music

I ve used music that I bought off of Itunes in projects before but for some reason it seems that way I was doing it is not working anymore. I would take a song then convert it to a AIFF file so it will play in FCP but now it seems that the songs are Protected AAC files that cannot be converted to any other format. The song was going to be used for a demo reel only. Anything else I could try?

Yup.

Burn the song to CD.

Rip CD as a full audio .wav file.

Add to project.

You can render it to your appropriate audio file type or your DVD authoring program will do it.... ac3 with Vegas FYI .... and "Bob's your uncle."

Done, and done.

The quality, while not pristine quality is more than satisfactory for my family vids, weddings and dance recitals. Nobody notices a difference.

Hope this helps.

Are you sure you've done the songs you bought off of itunes before ? Because they have always been DRM'd protected songs. Oh and Ian's suggestion is pretty much the easiest way to do it just remeber that it has to be burned as an audio cd and not data

Thanks SilverWolf. I assumed he would burn as a music CD when I wrote that but upon second reading it wasn't that clear. Oops. Hope he didn't waste a disc.
