iTunes Music Videos carousel???

I am not sure if this would be a FCP question or perhaps something I could do in Motion but I was wondering how I could copy the effect or look, that you see when you go to iTunes and select Music Videos and you can flip the artists album covers over to the next one. The noticed the same effect on the iPhone. If I had a bunch of clips and sized them down some, how would I be able to get them to flip over like I was reading a book and turning the page like on iTunes?

You just need to use distort really. Then you could either use an effect like a "flop" to get the page turn, or you could just keyframe the distort options. Which is better looking I'm not sure, you'd have to experiment to see. And not sure how well flop would work to create the quick book flipping motion (so perhaps keyframing the distort/motion attributes would be the best way, but again, test with flop and see).

Only catch though is that your footage is 2D, so when you flip and are looking at the "edge", well there is no edge. So you will want to move things by quick so it becomes a slight of hand effect. Otherwise you'd want/need to build some basic 3D shapes to give some better depth to the objects. But frankly I think that would be monstrous overkill.
