iTunes: DRM-FREE.

Makes sense. EMI was about to declare bankruptcy in February, citing HUGE money problems.

I'm surprised Jobs allowed a second tier in iTunes, but his hand was probably forced by EMI making their catalog DRM-free for any music distributor. He'd lose sales and put his foot in his mouth after that essay he released a while back.

That said, it takes pressure off the other labels to go DRM-free since his all-or-nothing DRM-free gesture failed.
