It's people! Wendy's Chili is people!

I keep thinking about the poor lower level guy that’s going to get fired over this. Probably under-staffed and working with outdated equipment trying to police food processing, he or she will probably get the blame.

I wonder if He'll be able to flip them the bird as he's fired? Did they say which finger it was?

Reminds me of a story from my childhood - an incident with a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.... I still don't eat anything made with a mix of chocolate and peanut butter...:(

Agghh! Don't tell me, I just this minute finished off 4 of those Reeses Cups  (Ignorance is truly bliss)

wonder if it was, "finger lickin good?"

maybe wendy's was trying to prove a "point?"

at least now we know they serve handmade chili.

On the other hand, there is a serous side to this, too. Since this is a body part, and some people do have fluid bearing diseases, they may be trying to track down who the finger belongs to to find out if they are HIV positive or have Hepititus or any other variaty of communicable diseases that may have been passed on by this incident.

I'm sure they are also trying to avoid a lot of 'finger pointing'. (Ok, I couldn't STAY serious!)

If she can prove that it mentally changed her life in some way forever or had some side-effect defect from it like getting sick... then she has a case.

But looks like Wendy's had a case in defense on the finger being "properly cooked". Which contained no contaminents.

But then again, she may sue on the premises that Wendy's had a duty to serve her... chili. Not finger-chili.

Sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I wouldn't know, I wouldn't eat the filthy motherfcuker.

My question is, at what point does someone lop off a finger in a food prep situation, look for it around a vat of chili, not find it and never have it cross their mind that "Hey, maybe it fell IN the freaking chili!" How did the cauldron of chili make it to the point that it would be served to customers with the chance that it might contain human body parts???? ewwww!!!! :undecided

This incident makes me question how many body parts, hairs, fluids (not the good kind) are served in restaurants on a daily basis -- on accident OR on purpose. For example, I remember some jackass telling me he and his buddings would chew tobacco and spit in the pancake mix at Country Kitchen cooking Sunday brunch. Yechht.

anyone remember when taht Taco bell got caught using "grade D" meat. and it said on the bag "not suitable for human consumption". it was basically dogfood.

fast food is the death of many people. but i see now that apparently .. many people(in it) ..are the life of fast food.

There's actually a book out (paperback) that has dozens and dozens of fast food horror stories from tainted food to processing facts. I'm trying to find it again...

I had a buddy that became obsessed with it and would bum everybody out with some quick facts before we would all go eat lunch.

I read on MSNBC that they think the finger is from a chick because it had a manicured nail. They even show a pic of it teeth marks and all.

I wonder how hard it would be to track down someone at a factory who suddenly, one day, just shows up missing a digit.

id actually guess that the digit is all thats left of someone who was "disposed of" and the digit somehow managed to make it through unscrambled. its likely a pointer finger. pointing they way to the murder case, and eventually pointing itself at those responsible.

..yes.. its all becoming clearer now.

Of course, there is the original... The Jungle by Upton Sinclair.
