My parents are happy I am graduating and my dad has hinted a few times as to getting me a tripod for my dvx. I was wondering if you had any ideas for a fairly inexpensive tripod that would have a fluid head.

Thanks

what does fairly inexpensive mean? Bogen 503 seems to be the most affordable and best for the price tripod out there.

Come on! You're graduating! You should be getting the most expensive tripod that will break your dad's wallet, and when he makes that face when you tell him you want a $2,500 tripod, you hit him with the "well, I could be on the streets selling drugs"!

well I have a feeling my dad might also be buying me a mac book pro, so I dont want to go too expensive. I was looking at a 501 head but wasnt sure about the tripod part. Whats the difference between the 503 and 501?
