hey everybody...
i recently just finished a short and tried to print the edition to tape....
Ive done it many times before using my old camara (sony DCR-HC90). All i would have to do was plug in the camara via firewire, check the appropriate settings for the print (NTSC) and the program would pretty much do the rest.
Then i bought my DVX. I had a few class projects this semester and some of them required me to do some editing and print the final editions to tape. I did it. The camara was new (and very different from the Sony), so i read the manual, found out what to do, and it worked fine.
Now for some odd reason, everytime i try to print my project to tape, the program seems to stop at the last option of where it sees the time code and all that to get sychronized with the camara to do the actual print.
I have no idea whats going on. Im pretty sure im setting the camara up right and i even read the manual a hundred times to be absolutely sure.
It just doesnt want to work. However, ive hooked up my old camara to the computer and the program saw it BUT it would only go through with the last step if i set the print up to record NTSC (instead of the 24p template).
So yea, i could print it to the old cam using the NTSC, but thats giving up and i really would like to know how to use my DVX and get the computer to print using the 24p templates as i had done previously in the year.
I hook the DVX up to the computer using firewire, set the camara up in the VCR mode and wait for Vegas to go through with the last option, then the count down to the pushing the "record" on the DVX's vcr. Doesn't happen. Never follows through to that final option. The actual writing that states the time code box's and all of that is grey (not clickable, and on the bottom the "next" button is grey and unclickable as well).
If someone could please let me know if im doing something wrong or tell me if theres an option that needs to be changed in the actual program, i would appreciate it very much.
NOTE: i have been the the "Preferences" page in Vegas, and under the Print Device tab everything reads as it should be (the device is recognized as normal)
and i use Vegas 6.
