Issues mounting anamorphic lens

I looked around the board and searched. I see how to mount it but I think my UV lens is in the way.

On my DVX the outer lens says PROMASTER 72mm UV

Do I need to take that off to fit the anamophic AG lens? The way it is now it seem mathematically impossible to screw on and I don't want to strip it. There's not enough thread. There's 2 threads after the UV filter.

I'm worried im going to scratch the UV lens while attaching the anamophic because they are right on top of each other.

Under the UV lens though, I see enough thread for the anamorphic to screw on.

If I need to take the UV off, how do i do that without damaging it?

Yeah you will have to take the UV filter off. If it is stuck you may need to take it to a camera store where they can use a filter wrench to take it off. Some people use the rubber on the sole of their shoe to try to grip it to take it off

edit: the filter screws off. Just realized that wasnt a nice thing to say at all

WOOPS. I been sticking pins, and pokey things in there trying to pop it off. haha. I guess I could use one of those rubber things you use to twist off jelly jars that are on too tight. I'll give it a go.

I used a vise to get it off. Thanks for the help.
