Is vegas really a professional editor?

Give vegas MXF support (panasonic), AE filter support and dual core support not just when rendering but also playing back etc., or graphic rendering

I've been looking into upgrading my PC to dual core specifically to help with video editing and audio recording. I was unaware that Vegas only uses dual core in the rendering process. So I wouldn't see any difference in playback with heavy effects, etc.? If that's true then I'm definitely holding off until 7.0 comes out to see if they support this. What about AE? Would I see a big difference in AE playback?

Thats right, vegas video as of version 6 only supports dual core processing ONLY during rendering according to a sony tech rep, but not during playback etc, hopefully this will soon change, as far as After Effects, it already supports this and can use your Graphic card to render or playback if you choose it under preferences,

referring to my post about AE filter support, i meant it would be cool if you can drop AE filters right on your media instead of using third party software like boris red.

I have a dual core FX-60 which is super fast, and vegas still crawls when playing back media sometimes 10-15fps, pretty sad....

I heard from a good source that version 7 will "blow your socks off"

.....waiting
