What about the part where you use DVD Studio Pro to actually author a DVD before Toast records it to DVD? The manual is your friend...

i burned it in to toast fine?

Is that meant to be a question or a statement?

Toast has a video DVD tab/option I believe. So I think you can go straight Compressor to Toast, but you'll just end up with whatever generic menu structure it does. DVD Studio Pro would allow you way more options. Also you could really fine tune a lot of settings to get the playback to work the way you want it.

And if you have FCP and Compressor you should have DVD Studio Pro. Its been packaged with FCP for a while now. If you don't have it installed, you might want to grab the FCP installer discs and consider installing DVDSP then.

cheers.

You don't have to use DVDSP. If you want a quick and dirty DVD to pop in and start playing, no menu (which is quite alot of the videos I do) then Toast is fine. I use it just as you described, all the time. If it's just to play a movie an nothing else, don't bother with DVDSP.
