8" for $169.95. There's video inputs, so I assume it would work as a video monitor for a crane setup or one-man dolly, or simply as a larger alternative to the DVX's monitor when I'm using regular tripod setups.

Is this a particularly good deal? It seems so after I've done a little online searching. Also, is there any reason this wouldn't be an adequate monitor for use with the DVX?

I am at work and they have that link blocked, but what I can say is that any monitor like that cannot be trusted for accurate color. If you're buying it as a reference monitor for framing etc etc, I'm sure it will be fine.

Yeah, it would be purely for framing and focus reference. I really just need something that I can use with a crane and dolly. Thanks.

There are a number of small LCDs for a reasonable price. I'm looking for at least 720X480 in resolution. A lot of these LCDs are half that!

Limehouse,

Did you purchase the monitor and what's your assessment? I'm in a similar situation where I need to get a monitor primarily for framing and focus purposes. Prefer not to shell out another $400 for a mini monitor.

Suggestions from other DVX users appreciated.
I purchased a cobra crane.
Thanks,
Jeff
