i have done a bunch of test videos with my canon 7D and it seems the noise on the wall, like block or square pixles, are just flickering and they look horrible...if you look against the walls carefully in this video you will see what i mean...
i had 2 lights, facing the table at different directions.....when i encoded this for regular dvd it looked like junk...
This video was done with the superflat picture style, i have also tried fujita velvia and its about the same...
video is at the bottom...
here is my workflow...
1.copy file to hard drive the raw .mov file
2.convert to quicktime with avid DNxHD
3.A)edit and grade in premiere pro, with newblue film effects
B) +5 contrast, +25 film contrast, -20 brightness, 25% blue, -65 saturation
4.export to either mpeg 2, 2-pass, 1080p, 40mbit, OR mpeg 2 blu-ray...mts file....
i have also tried mp4....just wondering any tips or tricks or better codecs to avoid this...
it seems there is no noise on the wall before grading...seems clean on the first file....watch the video below in 1080p...
