Is this a Craigslist Rip Off?

I've got a MacBook Pro listed on Craigslist. This lady e-mailed about buying it but I had another offer on the table. She comes back and tells me she'll pay $50 more for the laptop, and $150 for shipping. She said she'd do PayPal, but I have to ship it to West Africa. She's just waiting on me to give her my PayPal e-mail address. I don't see HOW she'd be trying to scam me, but something seems a little fishy...

Advice?
 
The scam probably involves sending you money which never clears, or from a stolen bank account or something like that. A lot of people in Africa are really in need of these things and all that, but it's also the center of pretty much all internet scams. All the ousted rulers with large bank accounts and church groups taking a tour to 'my area' in need of a photographer start out there as well.
 
Dude... c'mon... that whole idea is smothered in crazy.

A little fishy? That's Jaws in your toilet. Flush it... forget it.
 
Hmm, West Africa huh? Nah, not a scam at all.

Heck, when the lawyer/barrister emails you to tell you that you have been chosen to assist them in a wire transfer of 5 million dollars, and you get to keep 10% but all they need is your bank account info, go for it.

The fact that you even had to ask the question should tell you. Yes. Scam. Run.
 
I wrote her back and said that I'd be happy to ship it to her for LESS money...but that I would not send it out of the US.

She said no deal.

I knew it was fishy - but wasn't sure how I was gonna get screwed.
 
A friend sent her laptop to West Africa after the money showed up in her Paypal account. Thing is, they sent her to a fake webpage that showed the balance in her account. Once she sent the tracking number, the website disappeared and her real paypal acount was empty.

I was once sent $3,000 in counterfeit travelers checks for a GL2 that I was selling for only $1,500. They tried then tried to switch the shipping address from London to Nigeria.

So yeah, if I were you, I'd totally go for it :D
