Is there such thing as a lens that..

..enables you to film whats 'IN' the water? I'm talking seeing fishes, seaweed beneath the murky surface of realistic green / dirty sea water these days. I'm sure I came across such lenses before when searching for a video camera to buy.

I eventually want to create a '16th century' type, clear, un-polluted sea look.

Wouldn't it be easier to build a small barrier and create a very tiny dam, then fill it with clear or semi-clear water and add fish, rock, stuff, whatever you want to see in the water?

How big part of the water do you want to see?

I guess also, if you choose a location with only pine trees and no leaf trees, you would find the water should be much clearer there.
I don't know your budget or traveling restrictions, but rather than buying a lens for that one shot I mean.

It would be repetitive shots throughout a project (Series), and unless they were all shot at once.. I was thinking of renting one for a couple of days, doing all the pick ups in that time.

Talking shots like someone walking out of the sea, diving. Swimming under water. Sitting by the sea at a sunrise etc. Unfortunatly here despite the magnificant natural untouched scenary. We still get polluted sea waves in the UK. I think the only place that doesn't, and looks tropical. Is off the Isles of Lewis in Scotland.

Yes, I have an Innovision Probe lens that is submersible. It is not cheap but very cool. You can see it on my website under the pictures page.

The video on my home page was shot with this lens.

You could always just buy an epic cam housing ($300-$400) for it. Maybe even find one used.

Or if you are really on a budget, there is the fish tank trick. You put your cam in the fish tank and dip it some under the surface of the water and you can shoot under water. Just test the tank for leaks prior.
