I'm the biggest Rush fan in the world. Today I woke up and decided to watch some Rush DVDs. About 10 hours later, I am still watching Rush DVDs and having tiny religious experiences every time Neil does a triplet or Geddy does some impossible bass line.

I was wondering what you guys absolutely love? Activity, band, whatever. Having these small musical orgasms is making me wonder if this is a unique experience, or if other people experience it too.
 
i wonder what would happen if I combined the musical orgasm with the actual orgasm.

probably a stroke.
 
I'm still trying to get my wife to have sex with me while the trench run from Star Wars plays in the background. I'd time the climax right when the Death Star Explodes.

You are not alone. I also like Rush. To be specific, my favorite albums/era would be Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures and Signals.

I like to play my drums. We have a band but sound nothing like Rush. That's OK. I also enjoy actual orgasms.

Wow, 2112... i wrote my first screenplay treatment based on that album, when I was 14. I also had the great fortune to have seen them, in a relatively small hall (Roanoke Civic Center, Roanoke Va), during the Moving Pictures tour. I am a fan, but nowhere near what you are talking Brickhouse... or like a whole bunch of my friends are. I do know exactly what you are talking about. I am a huge music fan and sometimes when listening to music that I love, I really do feel like I am transcending from the physical, everyday blah, blah to... well... somewhere else. I don't know if it is better than sex... but, I have had some experiences that are probably the closest thing to a religious epiphany I will have listening to music, especially at concerts. The most intense was seeing U2 in concert, on the 360 degree tour, in 2009, at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville Va. We had general admission tickets and were on the main floor. I don't know if you have seen the stage set up, but there was a ring that surrounded the stage, that was about fifty feet from the main stage, that the band would come out on and perform, but the main stage was within the "Inner Ring". We got there and got pretty close to the outer ring, and were cool with that... While we were waiting for the opening band, a guy, in an official looking blazer came out on the floor near use and said, "Last call for the inner ring". My buddy, who wasn't paying attention, did not know what was going on, but I grabbed his arm and, with my, "Very Serous Voice", yelled, "Follow me". I followed the guy in the official looking blazer, not looking back to see if my Bro was following, and ended up in the inner ring. My Bro was right behind me... we ended up to a little left of center of the main stage, about 30 feet from the Edge, as he played on the main stage. What was very, very cool was that they also had these rotating walkways that crossed over us, and on several occasions during the show, Bono, the Edge, and Adam Clayton, while on that rotating cross walk, where about 15 feet from us. IT WAS A GREAT SHOW, from one of my favorite bands. It really is hard to explain how that show made me feel... Yeah... I know what you mean.

Also a vote for "caress of steel" based on side two if we are talking about fave albums.
 
I love an endeless amount of music that sill continues but the early Kansas music, maybe the first 3 or 4 albums blew me away.
There's just too many to mention but they stand out for sure.
 
There are moments in Star Wars, the original Dawn of the Dead, There Will Be Blood, and a few others.

I dunno if it's love or just an affecting scene, but the last shot in Jurassic Bark, the episode of Futurama where Fry intends to clone his dog, always makes me tear up.
 
Caress of Steer has The Fountain of Lamneth and The Necromancer which are both pretty sassy. Used to be my favorite album.

The first script/film I ever made, also when I was 14 was about 2112. I should upload it to YouTube so everyone can laugh at how bad it is.

Vapor Trails is an incredible album. Probably in my top 5. But I can't pick an order to that 5.

Snakes and Arrows took a bit of growing on me, but now it's one of my favorites. Hope is possibly one of the greatest things ever done, and We Hold On gets me pretty damn stoked on life. It's message is so powerful for some reason. We could be down and gone but we hold on. Oooooo tingles. The band did what they wanted and took no **** from any studio, and as a result they're huge.
 
While I am not a Rush fan (haven't heard a lot of their stuff actually, maybe I should go listen to some), I like a lot of different music. I've been into rock, metal, punk, jazz, classical, film scores, etc. Mostly electronic stuff these past few years though.

Lately this song by electronic duo Boards of Canada has really been giving me some great musical highs if you will. It is a mellow and kinda trippy song with a great changeover about 2/3 of the way through the song.
