Is there a way to only blow out a certain area?

Hey I'm working on a project where I wanna take only the windows and blow them out pure white so I can then white fade up when he opens the door as if the light takes over the whole room. Is there a way in FCP that I can blow out only the windows so when I go to my fade it looks nice?

I am sure you can by using some sort of MASK

Layer the same clip and do a selective color adjustment on top layer using the lumance selection to control area.
