Is there a way to create flash files for a website in premiere?

I can export them as flv format just fine but my understanding is that in order to get it into your website, they must be in swf format. How is this done?

Do I need to download some sort of freeware converter program or is there a way premiere can do this? (I'm used Dreamweaver to creat my site.)

SWF is actually the content (in you case a movie) , while SWF is the content attached to a player (usually skinned/tailored, that is why it is attached).
you can make html page with FLV content if you write it to launch a player.
basically it is done by creatif a placeholder SWF that call the FLV.
you cannot play directly FLV into a webpage, but you can have a FLV player installed and when people click on the FLV, it downloads it and lauch FLV player. People usually do not like to install software to play content, so the SWF solution is a lot better.

>98% of people already have flash installed , nothing has to be installed for the end user per se

If you use youtube, vimeo etc..you already have flash installed.

If you want a free flash front end , you can use jw media player or flowplayer

http://www.longtailvideo.com/players/jw-flv-player/

http://flowplayer.org/

There are instructions on those sites for setting up , scripting, etc... and user forums for help and feedback. The jw site even has a template wizard that generates the scripts and codes for you

In Adobe you can export h.264/aac in .mp4 or in .flv for example, to use for website.
