is there a way to automatically label footage?

Maybe not the right terminology. But in premiere 1.5, is there a way for premiere to look at a big chunk of video, then split it up into sub-clips automatically (understanding where the cuts are)?

but Scenalyser Live may do what you want if the clip has Time/date stamp info.

If I'm not mistaken, when you capture footage through a firewire, you can have Ppro identify clips. they are put in a folder or bin as seperate clips even though it was one single capture. Check your capture menus, because i could have this mixed up with another editing program. Update: I checked and it's called scene detect.

You can use Scene detect as you capture with PremPro (also needs timedate stamp info on clip) but with Scenalyzer you can do this to a video that has already been captured.
