Is there a way of doing something like this in CS5?

Basically I'm filming skateboarding and the last trick someone does is the first trick of the next persons line. and i wanted to know the best way of showing the last persons trick while showing the next persons first trick. I'm guesssing some sort of split screen? merge together?

While I don't quite understand what you really want... I use After Effects for 'effects'... but I believe you can key frame masks, so you could do a split screen between the two clips, then animate a wipe to fill out the screen with the new skateboarder, once the old one has finished.

You can also have the new guy in an small window 'insert', then enlarge as the old one finishes, and the new one, in progress, fills the screen.

I'd lock the camera down for both tricks to be exactly the same and use masks to reveal one in the others video.
