Is there a viewfinder cap?

Well, I've only had my DVX for a couple of weeks and am completely paranoid over taking it out into the sun. I read in the manual that I should never point the viewfinder or the lens at the sun, which seems obvious, but it's not always that simple. On sunny days, it seems near impossible to keep either the lens or viewfinder out of the sun at all times. Am I just going nuts over nothing, or is there a cap available for the viewfinder? What kind of protection can I offer my lens? Thanks.

I don't think you really need to worry that much about sun in the viewfinder. The exposure will be minimal at best when your eye is not on it. If you're really concerned about it, just take a small piece of dark cloth fastened with a rubberband and cap it when you're not using it. A far as the lens goes, I think it's the chips they're concerned about, not the lens itself. Direct sunlight can overload the chips and cause permanent spotting or pixel burn. The only thing you can do there is not point it directly into the sun and if you have to, use a good UV filter like the last guy suggested.
