Is there a market for a DVX100B ?

Would any one want a SD native 16x9 720x480 24p
tape based dvx with 1/2 inch chips for the same price ?

I was just curious if DV is dead yet?
Seems it would be still viable for event coverage.

I would. It'd definately help the transition to HD until things get sorted out over the next few years.

But likely? No!!

I think that market is what the 2/3' SDX800 and 900 are for.

But the HVX200 is *supposed* to be 16:9 SD on DV (Tape?) but only 1/3' CCD's.

Damn, that's one big CCD :D

Whoopsie!! I meant three 2/3" (INCH) CCD's!! :)

2/3' would be like a 7.992 INCH CCD!! DAAAAAAAAAAAMN that'd have good resolution and Latitude!!

Yes, I really just want 16:9, progressive, with low light capabilities. SD would be just fine, 1 large CCD is just fine.

I bet if a company introduced an inexpensive camcorder like that, they'd clean up the market overnight.
