Is there a Ken Burns type effect in Vegas?

I'm still saving up for production/post-production package and will probably go with Vegas as my NLE software. However can someone tell me if there is a Ken Burns type effect in Vegas or does come with an available plug-in? If so how good does it work?

Your response is appreciated!

FYI - Ken Burns=Pan/Tilt/Zoom on still photogragh.

Here is a "sort of Ken Burns" thing I did using the demo of Canopus Imaginate. I have since purchased the program.

Because it was the Demo program, limited to 5 second clips, all of the scenes are strung together 5 second renders, but the effect is there. Take a look. I have not really been able to duplicate the same "look" in Vegas. The final project was put together in Vegas.

Here is another one using the demo program. A little different, but I used the same theme (sort of).

You can easily pan/ zoom/ and rotate on photos in Vegas, and keep the original photo resolution while doing it. Plus with Vegas's new 3d tools, you can do much more, like adding perspective distortion to the photos or pretty much anything else you can imagine. Everything is done through key frames so you have complete control over how fast/slow you pan, or how smooth it is.

You are correct.  This feature was added to Vegas 5 I've just discovered. (3D perspectives)  DOH!   It can be done with the track motion, but I found it kind of slow and tedious.  At the moment, I prefer to do it outside of Vegas and bring in the rendered clip.  As I do more of it in Vegas, I'm sure I'll get comfortable with the new feature in track motion.  I'm very comfortable with all other features of Vegas (since version 2.0).  Great program that keeps getting better.

Just as a side note
{shameless plug}
Ultimate S does all the Ken Burns looks for you, matches aspect, reduces interlace flicker, creates movements that you define the depth of, and a whole lot more in one click. It only processes 999 images at a time though. Nothing can do what Ultimate S can do when it comes to manipulating stills quickly.

There are also a few tutorials on how to achieve this effect on the VASST site, including some that use 3D to skew the image, giving you the "Kid Stays in the Picture" look.

Spot,

I purchased {shameless plug} Ultimate S a couple of months ago. I forgot that it had built in features like that...oops... ;)

Well....Can't help it if you forgot to use it's single most powerful feature! :-)
Seriously though, if you like Ultimate S, wait'll you see what's next!
