Is there a "Flash or White Wash" transition effect in FCP?

Hey guys,
I'm trying to get a transition effect of a "white Wash or like a Flash" in FCP5? It's an effect you see on tv when people get a make over from looking bad to looking really cool with a transition that looks like a flash or white wash.
Anyone please,
Thanks in advance,

Zia

In a circumstance like that, I use a brightness/contrast filter and keyframe it to ramp up at the end of the first clip and down at the beginning of the second. Try 6 frames (3 up, 3 down)... Just my $.02

The manual method using the 3-Way CC mid boost probably looks better, but the Flashframe effect in TMTS is an easy way out. There's a ton of other useful stuff in the package. If you like it, you can donate a few bucks as a "thank you" to the programmer, Mattias Sandström.

the fast and easy method is simply to have a straight cut to a white frame and dissolve out from it 5 or 6 frames. some kind of hit or whoosh on the soundtrack helps quite a bit.

you could always just dip to white,

(That filter is under the Disolves, and it is called Dip to Color- you then change the color to white)

That is the way I would recommend going, if you are looking for an easy & quick solution. Some of the other methods suggested are great, but take longer to finesse - as they provide a slightly different look. If you've got the time, play around with the methods and see which one you like best.
