Is there a difference if i export either from Compressor for a 60min dvd est 886mbs, and throw it into dvd studio, where it stays the same size. OR if i export via quicktime format (not conversion) and get an 18GB file and throw that into dvd studio and its roughly the same amount of mbs (being 800 or so mbs) ?
thanks for any advice!

You have a lot more control in Compressor as well- you can specify frame controls and more options in quality. Also Compressor is another program so you are not tying up DVDSP to process to MPEG-2.

Thank you all, but now i find when i compress in compressor, its really crushing my blacks and causing weird artifacts? what would be the cause of this? this project has caused me nothing but trouble while exporting, things freeze up, when i go to the QT conversion and changed the size the default size is much smaller than any other project ive been on, but its all shot with the exact same gear. Any ideas?
and also what file format would u recommend, im using the 60min dvd setup, but it says i can choose mpeg-2 or 4 or H.264. i want the best quality and as the movie is only 20 mins i think a dvd can take it.
thanks again, this forum keeps me sane =p

You shouldn't be using QT conversion at all when you export. Choose Quicktime export with current settings. You can export a reference file (uncheck the "self-contained" box) if you prefer. Bring that file into Compressor. For a standard SD DVD you should choose mpeg-2. Since your movie is only 20 minutes you should choose CBR (instead of VBR) for the quality mode. A bitrate of 7 Mbps should work fine. Try it that way and let us know how it worked out. Good luck.
