Is there a better solution than PPro for slowmo conversion in post?

PPro is terrible converting AVI clips to 25% or similar speed for slowmo footage. After effects is better, but not much. Are there any tools that do a much better job slowing down footage?

Thanks
Tom

Well I'm trying Twixtor and I'm confused. I used their installer, but don't see the Twixtor plugin anywhere. Where is it located within AE? Whats the name of it?

If you downloaded or bought the plug in and installed it properly, it will be called Twixtor 4.5 in the Effects Window.

Search Twixtor (in the Effects Window panel in PremPro)

If you have the one clip that is slowed down:

1 copy it

2 cut 1 frame off the start and add 1 frame to the end

3 position this clip exactly over the top of original slow clip

4 set the opacity to about 50%

This makes a much smoother effect because if you image that if it is 25 frames per second and you slow it to half you now have 50 frames worth but the image changes every 2 frames only. If you position the other clip the gap where there is no image change there is one!

I found this accidently when doing an FX shot and it works in any editing/fx program! No expensive effect just simple editing!

I installed Twixtor, it created the folder on my computer with the *.aex files. But nothing is showing up in my Adobe software. And I don't see anyway to manually add effects??

Is Twixtor supposed to be available in both AE and PPro when installed? All their guides talk about AE usage.

But it's not showing up in either program for me.

Twixtor doesn't work for Premiere Pro, AE only. But it's not listed as Twixtor in the Effects panel either, it should be under the folder name of the company that makes it (RevisionFX).

Thats incorrect. I use Twixtor 4.5 in PremPro.

Maybe you downloaded the AE version. I seem to recall the two options either in purchasing or installing the plugin.

It is correct that it appears in a Revision FX Folder (Effects)
