Is the new itunes sucking for everyone, or just me?

I put on some killswitch engage when I got home last night and it sounded TERRIBLE; like my speakers were bottoming out. I have Event studio speakers and they usually can take pretty much anything you can dish out. Does anyone know what the deal is?
 
I just bought my first iPod two weeks ago with a 5% NBC discount at the Apple store (60GB video iPod), and installed iTunes 6 on my WindowsXP PC. When I imported my CDs, I selected "ADVANCED/Convert Selection to Apple Lossless" from the menu. Don't know if that did anything or not, but my files sure are big. My little 400-song library is taking up 9.5 GB!

You can get just the QT Installer too. Just search Apple's site a little more.

Lossless is uncompressed music. The traditional format for iPods is AAC at around 128 kbps. That will take about 70 MB per album. Lossless takes around 500 MB per album.

For what it's worth, I haven't had any problem with the new iTunes, but I'm on Mac, so maybe that makes a difference.
 
I use itunes on pc and I haven't had any problems. The only main difference in regards to itunes on a mac vs pc is that on a PC it consumes a lot more resources.
 
They've disabled (or more accurately made it optional) the ministore option that you're referring to msManhattan... No more big brother worries :)
 
I didn't know this until right now. But I had closed the mini store a while back. Now, I'll not be reopening it. Thanks for the link.:cool:
 
I'm with ya, Blaine...thanks msmanhattan for the link...i just upgraded QT to the newest version about 45 minutes ago...haven't open itunes...thanks again for the heads up

BTW...if MS did something like this it would be on the evening news :)...

Not to mention the lawsuits... no one ever seems to want to take a bite out of Apple though.
