Is the new IMac worth editing with?

I've read on Thinksecret.com that the IMac's will be updated soon.
Here is the one I would get:

"Better" 17-inch, 2.0GHz
512K L2 cache
2GB DDR SDRAM
250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive
SuperDrive (supporting dual-layer as well as DVD±RW/CD-RW burning)

The graphics card is supposedly the ATI Radeon 9600 128 mb to optimally run Tiger.

With those specs, is it worth getting the IMac for serious FCP editing?
(The PowerMac's are out of the question because of price)

Would editing HD footage run fine on this IMac?

The only thing to keep in mind with the imac is once it is outdated, you pretty much have to dump it. If editing is a hobby, and you plan on sticking in the SD world, than this puter will be fine for awhile. But you will not be able to update the video card, at some point 2gs of ram will seem small. But for the price point, and a side thing it will be fine, FOR NOW. But alas that is the thing with all computers, just with the sexy imacs you are somewhat stuck.

If you'd buy it locally, you could ask to bring in your FCP and try running it on the demo unit. A lot of times it's not a yes/no issue, but whether you can live with the system's limitations. Only a test drive would tell you that.

But with the ATI Radeon 9600, 128MB card (which all the new PowerMacs will be shipping with as well), wouldn't the IMac be good for a while, even editing HD footage? I know you can't replace the graphics card or increase the memory, so these are some issues I'm struggling with.
