I have a DVX100A and I think I might need an actual deck to capture my stuff.

I was using a pv-dv-103 but I don't think that willl work anymore.

Will the JVC DVS3U work ok?

Does anyone have experience with this deck?

Yes, it will work. I use the earlier model, the JVC HR-DVS2, and it works fine. It captures into Vegas, Edius and Premiere 6.5 and Pro with no problems using the front panel IE1394 connection. Saves wear and tear on the camera. Plus it's nice to be able to dub from a completed Out-master miniDV right onto a VHS tape, anytime I need.

There are consistent reports of problems, though, if you try to use it with Final Cut Pro. Not everyone, but enough that it might be a concern.
