is the dvx100a good to film skate vids

depends on what you want. I'd say hells yeah, grab your self a fisheye lens and go to town. Its got a fatty viewfinder on it so its great for those awkward angles, its small, light, and shoots 24p. You're not going to need a long lens so zoom isn't that important. Check around, i'd go with the dvx100 for sure

Yes it's a good cam to shoot skating with.

The lens is already pretty wide but you'll want to Grab a wide angle. I'd go with the 6x (I hate fish eye myself).

The cam is a bit off weight with the old school century wide angles but not too bad. (there is a screw on solution that is out there that'll be cool).

The cam is also light and small and easily fits in a pack. If you can still find a clive pack, they fit perfectly inside.

the whole problem with the wide angle is it doesnt allow you to get tight footage of your skater without cropping part of the subject off. Just get a regular fisheye from century and you'll be set. Wide angle is good if you're going for the "home video" look.
