I loved to know if the Schoeps Colette Series Microphone Set CMC6 Microphone Amplifier, MK41 Super-Cardioid Capsule, SG20 Microphone Mount, B5 Pop-Filter is the best you can get?

If you mixed the Scheops with a Lectrosonics wireless lav it would sound pretty good, yes?

It's good, but I would use the Sennheiser MKH 8000 series - the MKH series are RF condensers and are much safer outdoors in damp conditions.

I own that exact setup, except I use an Invision mount instead of the SG-20, and it's absolutely first rate. But as John points out it's not the only game in town and there are equally top-shelf mics from other vendors. At that level, the choice is not one of which mic is better or best but rather which one gives you the sound you want with the source you're recording or is more reliable under the conditions where you are working.
