Is OMNI light a DP light?

I been looking at the lighting kits available to make a decision on which one I should purchase. I am looking at the Lowel kit. I see the word OMNI lights and I see DP lights.

Does the OMNI and the DP lights all focus and flood capabilities in the Lowel kit?

The OMNI and DP lights both have barndoors with 4 flaping sides correct?

IS the difference is the OMNI is only 500watts and the OMNI are 1000 watts?

Thanks guys

Re: Is OMNI light a DP light?

wattage and size are the only difference. But both are great professional lights

Re: Is OMNI light a DP light?

I got the 4 DP light kit. In your opinion is the DP better than the OMNI because if you use filter, the light intesity of the DP is higher than the OMNI.

Thanks again walter

If you are talking to me, I said wattage is different as is size. DP is twice the wattage and casts more light.

Yes I am talking to you Walter.
I am still new at this. I was reading another post about your DIY FLORO, very nice. Really appreciate you sharing your experience to newbies like myself.

Well, I just purchase the Lowell 4DP lights. I can always cut down the 1000watt. Pretty damn excited. My first light kit.

I am shooting a scene in a room where there is a window in the middle of it. Would you use CTB for the DP lights? That's the reason I got the 1000 watt DP instead of the 500 watt OMNI.

Or would you rather use CTO acrylic and put it outside of the window?

Which one is more cost effective? Where do you get good deals on filters like the CTO anb CTB...etc?

Thanks walter in advance

Re: Is OMNI light a DP light?

CTB is easier and cheaper. Bounce some light off a reflector or a ceiling should be nice.

Sure why not. Many times folks think they have to use a full CTO to match outdoor light when more than most a half does just fine since light coming in windows through reflection often ends up being in the 4500k range. And even so, a DP spots down so well that bouncing it with aCTB is still a viable option.

Re: Is OMNI light a DP light?

You've help me alot Walter. Thanks. I just have one more question. Where is a good cheap place to get these gels and acrylic? Is there a website sponsor like EVS or something else.

thanks again
