Is my iMac able to log and transfer AVCHD?

Hi
Just a quick question - I'm using an Intel 2.6ghz iMac with 4gb of ram and an Nvidia 9400 (512mb) video card.

I'm also running the latest Final Cut Studio...

Will I be able to log and transfer footage from an HMC150 through USB reasonably quickly (I'm patient but I don't want an impractical workflow), and edit with relative ease?

Thanks, Dom

The answer is yes. But you'll need to transcode it to pro res 1st. Then editing will be super easy after changing to pro res. And workflow will work great with the rest of final cut studio.

You will have to test out log and transfer from 150 through usb yourself to know how fast it will be. Also you could dump the files to the computer first then transcode using compressor, thus keeping a back up of the original files. (maybe that is possible through log and transfer but I have yet to log and transfer anything, I always get the files after they're transcoded).
