Do cameras use liquid crystal shutter glass? I'm curious if this could be useful in photography, if fitted inside a lens adapter, on cameras that are limited to 1/4000th of a second shutter speed.

So could standard liquid crystal shutter glass be used as an electronic variable ND?
The name "stutter glass" leads me to assume that it would interfere with motion blur and cadence.
