Is it worth speaking to a film lawyer/solicitor?

I want to start a production business and write/direct for films. I don't know what to do to be honest and which path serves me well. I want to "open up" for someone who has better experience than me and perhaps "guide me" if you will.

Do you think a lawyer with respectful clients under his belt would be ideal to speak to?

Cheers

For starters, a good business manager might help. They can also set up LLC, and business corporations. Mine also manages my taxes and other financial related matters. Lawyers are used when it gets to contracts and such. Also, the business guy is cheaper per hour... use each one wisely when needed.

Yeah, I'm in the midsts of setting up an LLC and doing trademarking. I don't know if "business manager" is the term I'd go with. Financial Advisor, Accountant, etc should get you going.

Also, a "film" lawyer really isn't important in these beginning stages (or, potentially ever). Most any attorney versed in contract law will suffice. The most important thing is to use people who come RECOMMENDED. All of these people are no different than your mechanic or dentist. Find someone who knows someone and use them.
